"It's the spring of Naho's second year in high school, and Naho receives a letter from herself, 10 years in the future. The letter accurately depicts what’s about to happen, including details on a transfer student from Tokyo, Kakeru Naruse, who ends up sitting beside her in class. On top of that, the letter also begs Naho not to invite Kakeru out with her group of friends on that day alone, but why?"

Plot Summary[]

In a brief introduction, 26-year-old Naho Takamiya and her friends have the intention of sending letters to their 16-year-old counterparts. Naho initiates her story by expressing regret for every moment in her life and decides to advise her 16-year-old self on dealing with misfortunes.

A decade earlier, Naho wakes up late and receives a letter from her future self. Reading the first page at school, she confirms its accuracy, realizing she is indeed running late. The letter predicts the arrival of a transfer student who will sit next to her, and as foretold, Kakeru Naruse introduces himself and takes a seat beside Naho.

After an early dismissal from class, Naho and her friends decide to stroll around, getting acquainted with Kakeru and forming a friendship.

In the evening, Naho reexamines the letter, noting the similarity in writing between it, her diary, and her own.

In the following days, Naho observes Kakeru's frequent absences. During PE class, she reads that she will opt out of the softball game, a decision that will lead to regret. When Kakeru returns, they discuss sports clubs, and Naho shares details about her injured foot. Encouraged by the letter and inspired by Kakeru, she overcomes hesitation, stands up, and participates as the batter in the softball game. Naho hits a home run, securing victory for their class and making them champions, as Suwa also wins the football game. Convinced that the letter's contents are real, Naho reads further, discovering a grim revelation – Kakeru's impending death. The letter implores Naho to closely watch over Kakeru.
